Nigeria’s Non-Oil Exports Reach New Half-Year High

Nigeria's non-oil exports have reached a new half-year high, with the total export value hitting $3.1 billion in the first six months of 2025. This marks an increase from the $2.5 billion recorded in the same period in 2024, according to the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).
The council attributed this growth to higher shipment volumes and increased demand for Nigerian goods in emerging markets. Executive Director of NEPC, Nonye Ayeni, revealed these figures while presenting the council's First Progress Report in Abuja.
The report highlighted that demand from countries like India, Brazil, Vietnam, and several African nations were major drivers of growth. Ayeni emphasized the need to diversify export markets, improve product quality, and address logistics bottlenecks to sustain this upward trend.
NEPC believes that with the right policies and investments, Nigeria's export performance can be sustained and even surpassed in the coming years.
