Coalition Calls on Jonathan to Run for 2027 Presidency

A coalition has formally urged former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to declare his candidacy for the 2027 presidential elections, describing him as Nigeria's only hope to address the country's pressing challenges. This appeal was made on Wednesday in Abuja, led by coalition president Dr.

Tom Ohiker, who delivered a letter to Jonathan's residence. The coalition represents millions of Nigerians across 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, emphasizing a strong public sentiment for Jonathan's return to power.

They believe his past leadership experience and achievements can stabilize Nigeria's political landscape, which is currently marked by insecurity and economic hardship. Dr.

Jibunusho Umetafa, the coalition's national secretary, highlighted the need for a leader with empathy and experience, particularly in light of rising insecurity in northern Nigeria. The coalition plans to continue its campaign until Jonathan makes a decision regarding his candidacy.
