NiMet Launches Strategic Plan for Climate Resilience 2026-2030

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has unveiled a comprehensive strategic plan for 2026-2030, aimed at boosting climate resilience across Nigeria. The launch took place in Abuja, with Professor Charles Anosike, the Director General and CEO of NiMet, highlighting the agency's longstanding role in safeguarding lives and property over its 140-year history.

The strategic plan is designed to enhance service delivery and align with Nigeria's national vision. NiMet aims to become the first public institution in Nigeria's aviation sector to fully institutionalize a world-class system, focusing on employee growth, strategic partnerships, technological innovation, quality service delivery, and revenue diversification.

The plan was developed under the framework of the federal government's result-driven governance, coordinated by the Central Result Delivery Coordinating Unit (CRDCU). Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, emphasized the importance of monitoring performance across ministries and agencies.

NiMet's new core values, encapsulated in the acronym PACE, will guide the implementation of this strategic plan.
