NIS and UNIBEN Launch New Sports Administration Degree

The National Institute for Sports (NIS) and the University of Benin (UNIBEN) have formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing professional training and capacity development in sports administration in Nigeria. This collaboration will involve joint efforts in training professionals for key roles in sports management, covering academic and professional programs such as National Diploma courses, certificate programs, and coaching programs.

A significant aspect of this partnership is the introduction of a degree program in Sports Administration at UNIBEN, which will provide an academic pathway for young Nigerians pursuing careers in the sports industry. During the engagement, the Vice Chancellor of UNIBEN praised H.E.

Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, the Director-General of NIS, for the ongoing transformation at the Institute.

Shaibu highlighted the importance of institutional collaboration for national development and stated that this partnership aligns with the vision of sustainable growth and nation-building under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
