NIS and UNIBEN Collaborate to Enhance Sports Administration Training

The National Institute for Sports (NIS) and the University of Benin (UNIBEN) have entered into a partnership to enhance the training of sports administrators in Nigeria, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding. This collaboration aims to produce professionals equipped for effective sports management and includes National Diploma courses, certificate programs, and coaching programs.

A significant aspect of this partnership is the introduction of a degree program in Sports Administration at UNIBEN, providing young Nigerians with an academic pathway into the sports industry. During the engagement, the Vice-Chancellor of UNIBEN commended the Director-General of NIS, Rt.

Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, for the transformative changes at the Institute. Shaibu emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration for national development and stated that this partnership aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aiming for sustainable growth in sports administration and development.
