NITDA Engages Startups to Boost Nigeria's Tech Ecosystem

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is actively seeking collaboration with startups, investors, researchers, and industry players to enhance Nigeria's innovation ecosystem and promote the adoption of emerging technologies. This initiative was highlighted at the 20th edition of the Nigeria Computer Society International Conference 2026 held in Jos, Plateau State.

Dr Aristotle Onumo, representing NITDA's Director-General Kashifu Inuwa, emphasized that partnerships across government, academia, and the private sector are essential for transforming digital innovation into solutions that foster economic growth and job creation. NITDA's Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan focuses on expanding digital literacy, supporting research and development, and strengthening cybersecurity.

The agency is also encouraging participation in the forthcoming Builders Summit to showcase indigenous technology solutions. Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang underscored the importance of digital technology in modern governance and economic development, while Nigeria Computer Society President Prof Muhammad Sirajo noted the conference's goal of uniting stakeholders to develop strategies for harnessing emerging technologies.
