NLNG Launches $20,000 Prize for Young Nigerian Filmmakers

The Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) has launched a new prize category, the Nigeria Prize for Creative Arts, targeting young Nigerian filmmakers aged 18-35. The initiative aims to inspire the youth to tell stories that redefine the nation's image and celebrate its identity.

The prize cycle will begin in February 2026, with a $20,000 award for the winning documentary film. NLNG's External Relations and Sustainable Development General Manager, Sophia Horsfal, highlighted the company's commitment to nurturing creative capital in Nigeria and bridging the country's dynamic youth population with the broader creative industry to strengthen the nation's global voice through storytelling.
