NMA Election Crisis: 200 Delegates to Meet in Abuja

A significant leadership crisis within the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has prompted over 200 delegates to convene in Abuja on April 22. This meeting follows the recent disqualification of candidates announced by the state chairmen's caucus, which Dr.

Oreyemi Ifedayo, the chairman of the state chairmen association, condemned. He stated that the decision risks a breakdown of order within the association.

The intervention became necessary after previous attempts by the past presidents' committee to resolve the disqualification were disregarded. Dr.

Ifedayo emphasized the need for a level playing field and expressed regret over the current situation, which appears to be heading towards chaos. The upcoming meeting aims to deliberate on restoring peace and order within the NMA, with 200 attendees expected to verify the arrangements.
