NMA and Diatom Impact Foundation Donate Sanitary Towels to Female Inmates Nationwide

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and Diatom Impact Foundation partnered to donate sanitary towels to female inmates across Nigerian correctional facilities. This initiative, led by Dr.

Mannir Batur of NMA and Dr. Akindel Akintoy of Diatom Impact Foundation, follows concerns raised by a Senate panel about poor menstrual hygiene among female inmates.

The donation aims to promote menstrual hygiene and women's health within correctional centers. The NMA also announced plans to deploy mental health personnel to provide psychological support to inmates.

The visit concluded with a partnership agreement and donation exercise.
