NMDPRA Seals 11 Petrol Stations in Rivers State for Regulatory Violations

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) conducted a regulatory enforcement exercise in Rivers State, sealing 11 petrol stations in areas like Obio Akpor and Port Harcourt for under-dispensing petroleum products and other regulatory violations. Victor Owodiasa, the South-South Coordinator of NMDPRA, emphasized the need to uphold fair practices in the oil and gas sector to safeguard consumer interests.

The sealed facilities will remain closed until their pumps are verified to be compliant. Owodiasa warned that persistent offenders may face license revocation, stressing a zero-tolerance policy towards cheating consumers.

The operation aims to ensure that petrol stations operate within legal boundaries and do not engage in fraudulent practices.
