Nigerian Regulator Warns Against Fake Recruitment Schemes

The Nigerian Midstream Downstream Petroleum Regulator (NMDPRA) has cautioned Nigerians against falling victim to fraudulent recruitment activities falsely claiming to be associated with the agency. The NMDPRA, through its Director of Public Affairs, Georg Eni, clarified that it is not currently engaged in any recruitment exercises.

The warning comes amidst reports of individuals targeting vulnerable Nigerians with fake job offers in exchange for money, falsely claiming to recruit on behalf of the NMDPRA. The agency emphasized that it does not demand money for recruitment and advised the public to rely on official communication channels for accurate information.

Other Nigerian agencies like the National Commission, Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) and the Police Service Commission (PSC) have also disowned misleading recruitment information circulating online. The public is urged to verify recruitment information through official channels and to be cautious of scams.
