Nnamdi Kanu Moved to Sokoto Custodial Center After Terrorism Conviction, Lawyer Confirms

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been transferred to a custodial center in Sokoto after being convicted of terrorism charges by a Nigerian court. His relocation from the DSS detention facility in Abuja to the prison in Sokoto was confirmed by his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor.

Kanu's move came after a Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced him to life imprisonment on seven counts of terrorism. The decision to transfer Kanu was reportedly made by the government to ensure he serves his sentence in the correct facility within the country.
