Arewa Group Warns of Threat to Nigeria's Unity Over Nnamdi Kanu's Detention

A coalition of Northern Nigerian youth, Arewa group, has issued a warning about the prolonged detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), by the Department of State Services (DSS). The group expressed concerns that Kanu's detention is endangering Nigeria's unity and called for his immediate release.

They also backed the ongoing protests led by Omoyele Sowore's FreeNnamdiKanuNow movement in Abuja. The Arewa group emphasized that Kanu's case is not just an Igbo issue but a national crisis affecting every Nigerian's liberty.

They urged the government to uphold the rule of law and respect citizens' rights. The group also demanded accountability from prominent figures like Bola Tinubu and emphasized the need for peaceful demonstrations.
