NNL Sets Strict Club Requirements for 2026/2027 Season

The Nigeria National League (NNL) has issued mandatory requirements for clubs wishing to participate in the 2026/2027 league season, as detailed in a memo signed by Media Director Amar Ignis. The Chief Operating Officer, Danlami Alanana, emphasized that all 34 participating clubs must comply with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Club Licensing Regulations.

Key requirements include proof of non-indebtedness to players and coaches regarding sign-on fees, salaries, and allowances. Clubs with outstanding financial obligations must present a letter from the NFF Arbitration Committee to register.

Additionally, clubs must submit signed copies of players' and officials' contracts and settle any debts to the League from previous seasons. A mandatory guarantee payment of N20,000,000 is required to demonstrate commitment to completing the league season.

Clubs must also provide evidence of incorporation with the Corporate Affairs Commission, details of shareholders, and a transparent ownership structure. Registration for the new season has commenced, with the season set to start on October 31, which will promote four teams to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
