NNPC Delivers Over 1 Billion Barrels to Dangote Refinery

In April 2026, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) delivered over 1 billion barrels of crude oil to Dangote Oil Refinery, totaling 1.03 million metric tons or approximately 6.8 million barrels. This delivery involved eight cargo shipments, reinforcing NNPC's position as a key supplier, providing 650,000 barrels per day to the refinery.

The crude sources included Anyala, Bonga, Odudu, Forcados, Qua Iboe, and Utap. Despite the substantial deliveries, the refinery has faced complaints regarding supply inadequacies, requiring 19 cargo shipments monthly.

Notably, the shipments included various grades of Nigerian crude and refined products, with significant deliveries from Sonangol and other international sources. The operational efficiency of the refinery was highlighted by the quick turnaround of vessels, indicating improved logistics.

The refinery's location in Lekki plays a crucial role in its operations, which are supported by both domestic and international traders.
