NNPC and Heirs Energy Double Gas Output to Boost Power Supply in Nigeria

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Heirs Energy have successfully restored a gas facility offline for a year, doubling the output to address power supply challenges in Nigeria. This restoration has significantly boosted domestic gas supply, strengthening the nation's energy security.

The increased gas output has already made a positive impact, with Transcorp's Transafam Power quadrupling its output to 180 megawatts. Other electricity generation companies like First Independent Power Ltd and Geometric Power have also seen a surge in combined output to around 350 megawatts.
