NNPC Revenue Plummets 46.7% to N2.57tn in January 2026

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) reported a revenue of N2.57 trillion for January 2026, marking a significant decline of 46.7% from N4.82 trillion in December 2025. This drop occurred despite an increase in oil sales, with crude oil production averaging 1.64 million barrels per day (bpd), comprising 1.39 million bpd of crude oil and 0.25 million bpd of condensate.

The total oil sales reached 24.75 million barrels in January, an 8.6% increase from December's 22.79 million barrels. However, the revenue decline suggests external factors may have influenced earnings, as the report did not provide specific explanations.

Additionally, natural gas production rose to 7.283 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd), a 5.3% increase from December. The profit tax for January stood at N385 billion, compared to N351 billion in December.

Statutory payments made during this period totaled N726 billion, down from N1.27 trillion in December.
