NNPCL Blames PENGASSAN Strike for Cooking Gas Price Surge, Promises Stabilization

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) attributes the recent surge in cooking gas prices to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) strike, causing disruptions in loading and distribution. The NNPCL CEO, Ojulari, assured Nigerians that prices would stabilize as operations resume.

The strike affected the supply chain, leading to an artificial price increase. Ojulari also mentioned the impact of Dangote Refinery's worker dismissal on the gas price hike.

The intervention and subsequent agreement for worker redeployment aim to restore normal operations and alleviate the price surge.
