Cooking Gas Prices Soar to ₦25,000 Due to Distribution Disruptions

Nigerians are experiencing a surge in cooking gas prices, with refilling a cylinder now costing up to ₦25,000. The price hike is attributed to recent disruptions in gas distribution caused by a strike by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).

The strike affected the supply chain, leading to shortages and increased prices. As a result, many gas plants in Lagos and surrounding states were forced to shut down temporarily, causing inconvenience to consumers who had to search for available supplies.

The situation is expected to improve as the distribution network stabilizes following the resolution of the strike, ensuring a more consistent supply of cooking gas in the coming days.
