Adebayo Warns Tinubu and National Assembly Against Elections Without E-Transmission

Adewole Adebayo, a 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has strongly warned Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly against conducting elections without the legal backing of electronic transmission of results. Adebayo emphasized that undermining democracy by not allowing electronic transmission could provoke strong resistance from Nigerians.

He specifically warned Senator Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Abba Work, and President Tinubu about the seriousness of ensuring democratic processes. Adebayo stressed that without electronic transmission, elections would not be legitimate, leading to a government's departure.

He urged for adherence to the law and emphasized the need for free and fair elections. Adebayo's warning comes amidst concerns about the integrity of the electoral process ahead of the 2027 elections.

Earlier, ADC chieftain David Mark had also cautioned the Senate against usurping the powers of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
