Adebayo Urges Nigerians to Reject Tinubu in 2027 Election

Adewale Adebayo, the leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), expressed his firm belief that Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not win the presidential election in 2027. Adebayo made these remarks during an iftar gathering in Abuja on Thursday, where he highlighted the necessity for Nigerians to actively participate in the electoral process.

He argued that the country's constitution obliges leaders to encourage citizen engagement in democracy. Adebayo stressed the importance of achieving the highest voter participation rate in Nigeria's history during the upcoming elections.

He cautioned against any attempts to manipulate electoral laws for personal gain, urging the president to reflect during the holy month of Ramadan and allow Nigerians to determine the election's outcome. Additionally, Sadiq Umar Gomb, the national chairman of the SDP, called for transparency in electoral laws to ensure free and fair elections.

Other party officials echoed the need for amendments to recent electoral laws to promote inclusive democracy.
