Benue University Staff Union Vows to Continue Strike Until Demands Met

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Staff Union at the Moses Orshio Adasu University in Makurdi, Benue State, has declared an indefinite strike until their welfare demands are met. The union, led by Chairman Comrade Shishi Luper, rejected the university management's appeal to allow key staff to resume work, emphasizing the importance of addressing long-standing issues.

The strike, initiated due to the failure to implement the new national minimum wage and salary increases, highlights the staff's grievances regarding promotion arrears, pension payments, and gratuity. The union remains open to dialogue but insists on resolving these critical welfare issues before returning to work.
