Benue University Staff Union Declares Strike Over Unresolved Welfare Issues

The Joint Action Committee of Staff Unions at the Moses Orshio Adasu University in Makurdi, Benue State, has declared an indefinite strike over unresolved welfare issues. The strike decision was made following the management's failure to implement the new national minimum wage, salary increases, payment arrears, and other demands.

The union cited the need for the settlement of gratuity, regular pension payments, and reinstatement of the Contributory Pension Scheme as key issues. Despite management's appeals for an extension, the union remains resolute in their industrial action to address the welfare concerns of their members, emphasizing the importance of fair compensation and benefits for university staff.
