Bola Tinubu Orders Withdrawal of VIP Police Escorts Without Approval

Nigerian politician Bola Tinubu has directed the withdrawal of VIP police escorts for government officials without his personal clearance, citing security vulnerabilities. Tinubu reiterated the need for senior government officials to seek his approval for special security arrangements upon arrival at the Federal Executive Council meeting.

He aims to deploy security personnel to address kidnapping and terrorism threats. Tinubu has informed the Inspector General of Police to caution ministries, agencies, and individuals seeking security requests.

The move is to ensure genuine security risks are addressed promptly and prevent individuals from being left unprotected.
