NOA Urges Nigerians to Respect National Symbols to Enhance Unity

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Nigeria is urging citizens to respect national symbols and avoid indecent behaviors that undermine unity and patriotism. During the commemoration of the 2025 National Ordinance Day in Akwa Ibom State, NOA Director Mr.

Mkpoutom emphasized the importance of treating national symbols like the flag, coat of arms, anthem, and constitution with reverence. He highlighted the significance of correctly hoisting the flag, reciting the pledge sincerely, and singing the anthem with pride to affirm loyalty to the nation.

September 16 is annually observed to reflect on shared values of unity, discipline, and service. The NOA aims to deepen national identity and strengthen cohesion through honoring national symbols in various settings.
