Sunny Alli Critiques Nollywood's Unrealistic Ritual Themes

In a recent interview, veteran Nigerian actor, producer, and director Sunny Alli expressed his views on the portrayal of witchcraft and money rituals in Nollywood films, labeling these storylines as unrealistic. He stated that he does not believe in the existence of money rituals or witchcraft, questioning the authenticity of scripts that include such themes.

Alli pointed out the challenges he faces when collaborating with colleagues on projects that involve these elements. He emphasized that while he has encountered individuals seeking clerical prayers for healing, he has never witnessed any supernatural occurrences related to money rituals.

Alli criticized the notion that spirits can provide money or that they can operate printing machines, referencing the Central Bank and Bureau de Change in his remarks. He advocates for creating films that reflect reality, stating that certain things should not be included in scripts, as they do not align with his beliefs or experiences.
