Non-League Footballer Adeniji in Critical Condition After Brain Injury, Fundraising Campaign Launched

Saburi Adeniji, a non-league footballer for King's Park Rangers, sustained a catastrophic brain stem injury earlier in the month and is currently in critical condition at Queen's Hospital. The club confirmed on January 15 that Adeniji is brain dead due to severe injuries.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise around £13,000 to cover the costs of his family's travel from Nigeria to the UK. Adeniji's wife, Olayinka Adeniji, and young daughter are urgently needed in the UK to say their final goodbyes before life support is withdrawn.

The club's manager, Jami Cureton, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from the football community in raising funds for Adeniji's family.
