North Central APC launches coordinated push for Tinubu's 2027 re-election

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 re-election campaign has gained momentum in Nigeria's North Central region through a coordinated effort by the All Progressives Congress. Party leadership and state governors convened in Abuja to present their strategic plan for delivering substantial electoral support from this zone.

Senator George Akume, serving as Secretary to the Government of the Federation, spearheaded creation of the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Movement. This network coordinates backing at the grassroots level and operates with Akume functioning as its Grand Patron.

Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, heading the APC nationally, affirmed that the zone intends to supply more votes than any other region for the president. The mobilization structure unites governors, party functionaries, appointees in government roles, and other key regional figures.

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule plays a central role in these efforts. Vice President Kashim Shettima is included within the re-election backing.

A significant gathering in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on October 10, 2026, will demonstrate the region's commitment to the ticket, according to available reports. Across its six states, this region represents a consequential electoral constituency for the 2027 presidential contest.

Sonny Echono holds the position of National Coordinator for this grassroots initiative.
