Northern Elders Forum Backs State Police Creation for Improved Security

The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) expressed support for the establishment of state police in Nigeria, believing it would enhance national security if properly implemented. NEF spokesperson Abubakar Jiddere announced this at a press conference ahead of the Northern Nigeria Investment and Industrialization Summit scheduled for September 29-30, 2025.

The forum, in collaboration with 19 northern states and the New Nigeria Development Company, aims to boost economic development in the region and create new opportunities for citizens and international partners. Jiddere emphasized the summit's focus on economic growth and development strategies to unlock the potential of Northern Nigeria.
