Northern Governors Mourn APC Secretary's Mother at 92

On Monday, Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, acting on behalf of the Northern States Governors Forum, conveyed condolences following the death of Alhaja Sidikat Basiru, mother of Senator Surajuddeen Ajibola Basiru, who passed away at the age of 92. Governor Yahaya described Alhaja Sidikat as a virtuous matriarch known for her discipline, faith, and selfless service to her family and community.

He emphasized the profound sorrow that accompanies the loss of a mother, acknowledging the unique role mothers play in families. The governor urged the Basiru family to find solace in the legacy left by Alhaja Sidikat, which includes the moral upbringing of her children, particularly Senator Basiru, who has earned respect in public service.

The Northern States Governors Forum extended heartfelt condolences, recognizing the significant loss not only to the family but also to the wider community, and prayed for the deceased's eternal rest and comfort for the bereaved.
