Northern Lions and Middle-Belt Tigers Win in Super League

The inaugural Nigeria Super League commenced with an action-packed opening day in Lagos. In the first match, Northern Lions triumphed over Southern Sharks by four wickets.

After winning the toss, Southern Sharks elected to bat but struggled against the disciplined bowling of Northern Lions, with Reineth Osagi taking two wickets early on. The Sharks managed only 89 runs in 20 overs, with Danladi Isaac scoring 26 runs.

Northern Lions, led by captain Okp Sylvest, successfully chased down the target, with Hosanna Omokhobhio scoring 30 runs. In the second match, Middle-Belt Tigers also secured a four-wicket victory against Western Dolphins.

The Dolphins batted first, posting a total of 129 runs, with David Abiebhod contributing 31 runs. The Tigers chased down the target in 18.5 overs, guided by Solomon Chilemanya's unbeaten 33 runs.

Both matches showcased the competitive spirit of the newly launched league.
