Norway Changes World Cup Base Due to Hotel Issues

The Norwegian national football team has relocated its base ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup match against England due to issues with their original hotel accommodations in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Players expressed dissatisfaction with the Dalmar Hotel, citing unpleasant odors from cigarette smoke, the presence of mold, and overall lack of hygiene.

Additionally, the hotel's location near a busy main road with ongoing construction and its distance from the nearest beach, approximately four kilometers away, contributed to the decision. Trul Dhli, the chief delegate, confirmed that the change was necessary to create the best possible working environment for the team.

The Norwegian FA expressed gratitude to FIFA for assisting with the hotel change, and the governing body will cover the hotel bill and the increased costs associated with the new accommodation.
