BUA Group's Rabiu Receives Africa's First Bombardier Global 8000

Abdul Samad Rabiu, the Chairman of BUA Group and Africa's third richest man, received the first Bombardier Global 8000 private jet delivered in Africa, valued at around $81 million. The delivery, which took place in early June, represents a major milestone for the private aviation sector.

The agreement for the jet was finalized on December 4, 2025, following several weeks of discussions. Rabiu is among the early African buyers of this ultra-long-range aircraft, which can reach a price of $95 million when customized.

The aircraft is currently operated by BUA Group, a Nigeria-based conglomerate involved in manufacturing. The Global 8000 is noted for its advanced business jet capabilities, enabling nonstop travel to major international cities, including direct flights from Lagos to Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Perth.

The jet is designed for luxury travel with four separate cabin zones and a fully equipped galley. The base price starts at $80 million, with costs increasing based on customization options.
