Enyimba Edges Abia Warriors 2-1 in Thrilling NPFL Derby

In a closely contested NPFL derby match on Sunday, Enyimba Football Club triumphed over Abia Warriors with a score of 2-1 at the Aba Stadium. The first half ended in a stalemate at 0-0.

Chidera Michael opened the scoring for Enyimba in the 60th minute, giving them a 1-0 lead. However, Abia Warriors equalized in the 87th minute through Emeka Obioma, making it 1-1.

The match took a dramatic turn when Chidera Michael scored again in the 90th minute from a penalty awarded after a foul by Abia Warriors' defender Wonah William. This late goal secured a maximum three points for Enyimba, bringing their total to 39 points from 32 matches, placing them 15th in the NPFL table.

Abia Warriors, who dropped from 5th to 6th position, retained 49 points.
