Emmanuel Deutsch, the interim head coach of Enyimba, stated his confidence that the club will retain its status in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) despite facing challenges this season. Enyimba, a nine-time league champion, is currently positioned 16th on the league table following a 2-0 defeat to Kano Pillars, which places them just above the relegation zone due to goal difference.

This defeat marks Enyimba's 13th loss of the season. Deutsch emphasized the importance of the upcoming match against Abia Warriors, which is seen as crucial for the club's fight to avoid relegation.
