NPFL Orders Kano Pillars, Barau FC, Abia Warriors To Upgrade Home Grounds

The Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) has ordered Kano Pillars, Barau FC, and Abia Warriors to upgrade their home grounds to meet broadcast competition standards. Kano Pillars and Barau FC currently share the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, while Abia Warriors host games at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

The NPFL emphasized the need to improve playing surfaces, renovate dressing rooms, upgrade technical benches, and install standard floodlights. Clubs that fail to comply will not be allowed to continue hosting matches at their current grounds.

The warning comes after Abia Warriors defeated Kano Pillars in Umuahia, while Barau FC was frustrated with a goalless draw against Enyimba at the Sani Abacha Stadium. Other teams like Bendel Insurance, Remo Stars, Rivers United, and Niger Tornadoes are also facing home ground issues.
