Rivers United Faces Setback with 4-1 Loss to Nasarawa

In a challenging match for Rivers United, they suffered a 4-1 defeat against Nasarawa United on Monday in Lafia, which dealt a blow to their title aspirations. Nasarawa United opened the scoring with two goals in the first five minutes, courtesy of Ngei Oluka and Efor Abubakar.

Abdullahi Chimezi added a third goal in the 15th minute. Taiwo Abdulrafiu managed to reduce the deficit for Rivers United nine minutes later.

However, Jofrank Istifanu scored the fourth goal for Nasarawa United in the 58th minute, solidifying their lead. As a result, Rivers United remains in second place on the table with 52 points, while Nasarawa United moves up to third place with 50 points.

In a separate match, Abia Warriors triumphed over Niger Tornadoes with a score of 2-1, with goals from Suraju Lawal and Casmir Azubuik, while Joseph Godfrei scored for Niger Tornadoes.
