Finidi George: NPFL Title Race to Last Day

Finidi George, the current coach of Rivers United, expressed confidence that the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League title race will go down to the last day. He emphasized the importance of winning their upcoming away game against Wikki Tourists to keep their title hopes alive.

Currently, Rivers United trails Enugu Rangers by seven points, with two matches remaining in the season. Enugu Rangers recently secured a 2-0 victory over Bayelsa United, while Rivers United achieved a 3-0 win against Abia Warriors.

Finidi noted that Rivers United must avoid defeat in their penultimate game against Wikki Tourists to stay competitive. He mentioned that everything is possible until the last day, as both Rivers United and Enugu Rangers will face Katsina United and Ikorodu City, respectively.

Finidi George took charge of Rivers United in search of their first league title since dethroning Enyimba in 2023, having previously won their first title in 2022.
