Ribadu Meets U.S. Leaders to Strengthen Security Cooperation

Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Advisor of Nigeria, held discussions with U.S. Vice President J.D.

Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington D.C. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the United States and Nigeria in the fight against terrorism in West Africa, specifically addressing threats posed by Boko Haram and ISIS.

Ribadu emphasized the importance of the U.S.-Nigeria partnership in confronting these security challenges, highlighting ongoing attacks in the region. The discussions included the reinforcement of U.S. training and intelligence support for Nigerian forces to intensify operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and protecting vulnerable communities.

Ribadu reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment as a frontline partner of the U.S. in the battle against rising terror threats across the Sahel region, asserting that the fight against these groups is winnable through collaboration.
