NSC Confirms Allowances for Team Nigeria Athletes at 2025 World Championships

The Nigerian Sports Commission (NSC) has confirmed the provision of allowances for Team Nigeria athletes at the 2025 World Athletics Championships. The announcement was made by NSC Director of Press, Kehinde Ajayi, during a meeting with Nigerian athlete officials.

The NSC Director General, Bukola Olopade, emphasized the government's commitment to the welfare of athletes and urged them to maintain discipline and patriotism. The 2025 Championships, scheduled for September 13-21 in Tokyo, will see rising sprinter Kayinsola Ajayi representing Nigeria.

This event is considered a significant global track and field competition outside the Olympics, with the last time Tokyo hosted being in 1991 when Mike Powell set a long jump world record.
