NSCDC Busts Baby Factory in Lagos, Arrests Two Suspects

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) conducted an operation in the early hours of Thursday, rescuing 18 pregnant women and 10 children from a baby factory located in the Okuju Ilado area of Badagry, Lagos State. The operation led to the arrest of two suspects, including Raphael Agwu, who was allegedly involved in the facilitation of the illegal activities.

The women, aged between 18 and 30, were reportedly enticed through social media platforms, with promises of payments ranging from N500,000 to N1.8 million upon delivery of their children. The NSCDC's Lagos State Command, led by Adedotun Keshinro, stated that the facility had been under surveillance for three weeks due to intelligence reports.

Items retrieved from the site included cooking equipment, baby skincare products, and various food items. The NSCDC plans to hand over the case to the police for prosecution, while the state government may decide to demolish the facility to prevent further illegal activities.
