Man Arrested for Selling Sister's Baby for N2 Million

The Lagos State Police Command arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly selling his sister's one-month-old baby for N2 million. The suspect, residing in the Igbogbo area of Ikorodu, claimed he sold the baby to fund their mother's burial.

According to reports, the man confessed to the crime, attributing his actions to poverty. He stated that he met a woman on Facebook who was looking to adopt a child and negotiated the sale with her.

The suspect's sister was reportedly unaware of the sale. After the transaction, the man transferred N500,000 to his sister and kept the remaining balance.

The police, led by Mr. Olohundar Jimoh, ordered the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Panti for further investigation.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Dayo Akinbisehin confirmed that the suspect would be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
