NSCDC and Halogen Group Unite Against Illegal Mining

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Halogen Group are seeking collaboration to address illegal mining in Nigeria, as discussed at the 8th edition of the NSCDC Lagos Public Relations Clinic in Ikeja, Lagos. The event was themed “Collaborative Security as a Paradigm for Mining Security.” Assistant Commander of Corps, ACC, Onoja John Attah, reported that recent nationwide operations led to the closure of multiple illegal mining sites and the arrest of both local and foreign suspects.

He noted that the collaborative security model adopted by the Mining Marshals has yielded significant results over the past two years, including increased operational success and the initiation of prosecutions. Lagos State Commandant of NSCDC, Adedotun Keshinro, emphasized that mining security extends beyond individual sites to include the protection of national economic resources and host communities.

He commended Halogen Group for their partnership, which has enhanced cooperation between public and private security entities.
