NSCIA Rejects Trump's Designation of Nigeria as 'CPC' Country, Citing Political Motives

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has rejected the designation of Nigeria as a "Country of Particular Concern" (CPC) by former US President Donald Trump, dismissing it as an attempt to stoke religious tensions and destabilize the country. NSCIA emphasized that the claims of Christian genocide in Nigeria are false and politically motivated.

Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Secretary-General of NSCIA, highlighted the security challenges faced by both Muslims and Christians in Nigeria, fueled by terrorism, crime, and resource conflicts.

The council called for a focus on combating terrorism and protecting citizens, urging the US to retract the CPC designation.
