NSCIA Plans National Prayer for Nigeria's Peace on September 30

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) announced it will hold a special national prayer for peace, stability, and progress on September 30, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Abuja National Mosque complex. This event will be led by the President-General of the NSCIA and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.

A statement from the NSCIA's Public Affairs Officer, Abbas Jimoh, indicated that the prayer aims to allow Muslims to collectively seek Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria. This prayer will precede the NSCIA General Assembly, scheduled for October 1, 2026, at the same venue, which is the council's highest decision-making body.

Expected attendees include senior Muslim leaders, public office holders, and representatives from various Islamic organizations. The NSCIA called on Muslims nationwide to pray for peace, unity, security, good governance, and sustainable development, reaffirming its commitment to promoting unity among Muslims and supporting Nigeria's stability and progress.
