NSITF Rehabilitates 78 Workers with Prosthetic Limbs

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has rehabilitated 78 injured workers by providing prosthetic limbs, marking the successful completion of the current phase of its prosthesis provision exercise. Barrister Oluwaseun Faley, the Managing Director of NSITF, reported that the initiative, which began in April 2026, was implemented in collaboration with prosthesis providers.

The program aimed to restore mobility and improve the quality of life for workers who sustained work-related injuries. The beneficiaries received various types of prosthetic devices, including eight above-knee prostheses, 11 below-knee prostheses, 12 below-elbow prostheses, five above-elbow prostheses, and 40 silicon partial hand prostheses.

Mr. Nkiru Ed Ogunnaik, General Manager of Claims Compensation, noted that the rehabilitation process included comprehensive assessments and training for the beneficiaries.

Mr. Solomon Sundai, a staff member from Zodoson Industries in Abia State, described the intervention as life-changing, expressing gratitude for the support provided by NSITF.
