NSITF Launches Nationwide Workplace Safety Campaign

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has launched an intensified nationwide campaign aimed at promoting workplace safety through stakeholder engagements in Bauchi, Jos, and Kaduna from August 18 to 20, 2026. This initiative, titled “Programme on Safety Regulations, Policies and Standards,” is organized by NSITF’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department.

It seeks to raise awareness among employers regarding the significance of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and to enhance the capacity for safer workplaces across Nigeria. The program aims to deepen understanding of OSH frameworks, address challenges, and promote the integration of workplace safety into national development strategies.

NSITF's statement, signed by Head of Corporate Affairs Alexandra Mede, noted that attendance has exceeded expectations, with 85 employers invited to each location. The first phase of the campaign, held from August 11 to 14 in Owerri, Port Harcourt, and Lagos, saw participation from over 100 employers.

The initiative aims to shift OSH from compliance to a core business strategy, addressing the rise in workplace incidents and compensation claims.
