Filling Stations Shut Down in Rivers State Amid NUPENG-Dangote Dispute

Filling stations in Rivers State have ceased operations due to a dispute between the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and Dangote Refinery. The Petroleum Product Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) accused the refinery of monopolization, leading to the shutdown of several filling stations in Port Harcourt.

This closure has caused fuel scarcity and long queues as customers struggle to purchase petrol. PETROAN stated that they are closely monitoring the situation and complying with the national leadership's directive to support NUPENG.

The association emphasized the need to prevent any compromise on security and ensure adherence to the temporary shutdown directive in Rivers State.
