NUPRC Completes Pre-Qualification for 2025 Licensing Round

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) announced the successful completion of the pre-qualification stage for the 2025 licensing round on March 17, 2026. Eniola Akinkuotu, the head of media strategy and communications at the commission, confirmed that the pre-qualification process was finalized on March 16, 2026.

The commission has notified the public of the successful applicants who will now be permitted to submit their technical and commercial bids. It is important to note that the pre-qualification application mandated the submission of lease data from two data sources, along with evidence of payment for the requisite submissions.

This marks a significant step in the licensing process for the oil and gas sector in Nigeria, as the commission moves forward with the 2025 licensing round.
