NUPRC Concludes Allocation of Deepwater PPLs in Nigeria

The NUPRC concluded the allocation of Deepwater Petroleum Prospecting Licences (PPLs) for offshore blocks in Nigeria, covering a significant area in the Niger Delta Basin. The licenses were awarded to a consortium, including Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), following a competitive and transparent bidding process that began in December 2024.

The commission's Executive Director highlighted the importance of these agreements in advancing Nigeria's upstream oil and gas sector reforms, emphasizing transparency and fiscal discipline.
